Winners of e-Learning Winter Games Announced
New York, NY: ScribeStudio today announced the winners of the e-Learning Winter Games. The contest was an opportunity for ScribeStudio.com Subscribers to showcase the online courses they created with ScribeStudio’s e-Learning toolkit. Subscribers had a month to work on their courseware before presenting to a panel of judges.
Finalists were selected from a wide range of industries, from high school language departments, to large manufacturing companies performing customer and sales training online.
Drumroll please... The Gold medal, and a Dell computer, goes to Jeremy Arntsen, Senior Implementation Services Specialist with Friedkin Information Technology, a Houston-based technology firm. The purpose of the Friedkin e-Learning program, located at Portal Announcements Training, is to train employees on new software applications.
A somewhat stunned Arntsen said "Wooohoooooo!!! This is awesome because our family computer is 6 years old and needs replacing." A moment later he added, "I’;m very honored to have had my course considered for the Winter Games contest. On the first day of my 30-day trial period, I built and deployed a real working version of my Portal Announcements Training course. To me, it shows that good software can make anyone look like a pro!"
The Silver medal, and two Logitech Web Cams (to use with ScribeLive Web conferencing), goes to Kevin Greene, President of iBreakthrough, a Los Angeles-based negotiations, leadership and sales consulting firm. Kevin took home the silver for his company´s work creating an instructional video course for the NFL, located at How to Play Quarterback.
Bronze went to Scott Minnick, a French teacher at Glastonbury CT. High School for creating online homework activities for the book he is teaching in class, Le Petit Prince. The course can be found at Le Petit Prince.
Bruce Bernstein, President of the New York Software Industry Association, and an impartial Winter Olympics judge, said, "the ScribeStudio projects I reviewed had tremendous diversity, and many of them were top-notch in terms of educational content. It was a great experience to see what people are doing with creative on-line learning."
"It’;s amazing to see how people use the ScribeStudio tools to create engaging, interactive courseware. There are many more uses and applications for ScribeStudio than we ever imagined," said John Cervieri, Chairman of Distance Learning, Inc, the company behind ScribeStudio.com. "I’m sure many companies that develop disruptive or new types of products go through the same experience. You develop a product and people use it in ways you never thought possible. Anyone who wants to create and share content and communicate with others online can use ScribeStudio."
