Software & Information Industry Association Uses ScribeStudio to Deliver Events Online

New York, NY: The Software & Information Industry Association ("SIIA") announced the launch of its Events on-Demand Web site (http://siiacontent.scribestudio.com), powered by content management and publishing firm ScribeStudio. The site lets members view video and listen to audio presentations from past events, interact with industry peers via the secure chat and forums in the SIIA community center, and participate in live Webcasts.

The SIIA projects that using ScribeStudio and their content development and delivery platform will enable them to more than triple the number of people who view events, allowing the SIIA to use local events to maintain relationships with out-of-town and international members. The interactive portions of the site, such as built-in text and video chat, message boards, and polls and surveys, also create stronger ties between members, helping the organization create a community around the online streaming content.

"This has a number of positive implications for membership and retention. We can now tell members and prospects that they can participate in events no matter where they are,” said Ed Keating, Vice President, Content Division for the SIIA. “Our members have responded enthusiastically to the program, which has extended our reach to users who want to participate but cannot make the meetings."

ScribeStudio (www.scribestudio.com) is an easy-to-use Web-based content management solution, which makes it simple for those with no technology or design experience to publish presentations, lectures, seminars and concerts online. These events can include a wide array of multimedia content, including audio, video and animation.

"Most associations are not broadcasting or publishing the recorded archives of their meetings online, so a good number of members miss the majority of events," said Peter Cervieri, Director, ScribeStudio. Internet access is all that is required for members to view the conference, which overlays speakers’ PowerPoint presentations with synchronized audio and video from the event. No software needs to be purchased or downloaded, making ScribeStudio a solution that will work for anyone with an Internet connection.

The SIIA Events on-Demand Web site is a free service to SIIA members. However, organizations can also post content as a pay-per-view or as part of a Subscription Series format, through ScribeStudio’s built in e-Commerce tools. Cervieri said that ScribeStudio allowed for easy distribution or sale of "in-person" content, creating the potential for new distribution channels for live events.
